Rounds 3 and Further: The Final Countdown (cue music)

Round 3 This takes us into seconds 8-12 of this free for all:  six contestants have already left the ring, leaving just ten combatants remaining. Everyone rolls a d10 and adds the result to their Initiative score. Julia rolls a "7" which is enough to give her the advantage. Seeing Trent's distraction of Tom while Brittany cold-cocked him interfered with Julia's sense of fair play (well, a little bit, anyway).  "I need to remedy that," she says to herself. Julia DEX = 15, Trent DEX = 4. Roll:  2 + 7 = 9.  She has no trouble hitting him, she just gets no column shifts. Julia STR = 5, Trent BODY = 5.  Trent loses 1 RAP. Trent now knows that not only can Julia hit him when she wants to, but that he can get dinged. Jane is next. Before the round starts, she remembers Brittany's plan, and she likes it a lot.  A DOUBLE TEAM. However, she has to wait it out until the very end of the round when Brittany can join her. Charles is next. He will at...

Battle Royale: Round Two

This will be my last round of combat for today.  It's hard to do combat with 16 characters, even if it's just simple combat! "You know what we need?" Sergeant Nemec said, watching a replay of the fighting on tape. "What?" Corporal Hawley said. " An old-style Western ballroom ," Nemec said.  "When I was a little girl and a barroom brawl came on TV?  I loved that shit.  This would be a great fight in a Western ballroom." "Yeah," Hawley said, "but you'd go through a lot of wood and glass." "Right," Nemec said.  "I can still dream." Note:  An error was made in Round One, where we incorrectly used STR as Karen's opposing value against Fran.  Her opposing value should have been a value of BODY = 8.  We restore one RAP back to Karen. Round Two: Two people are already out:  Quinn and Jodie.  Everyone else rolls a D10 and adds it to their Initiative score.  Stacy gets a crap roll (3), so...

Battle Royale: Round One.

The rules: All players can reach all other players.  This is a restricted area, so players don't have to spend APs moving into position. No powers are allowed to be used, but no one is wearing an inhibitor.  This basically sets all players at BG's levels in his first writeup, which we'll assume is correct for this exercise. No player that we assume has martial arts:  Sandi, Brittany, or Tiffany - is allowed to use any of them. No weapons. No obstructions, which means nothing to block with or hide behind. Players are in plastic helmeted workout gear.  No one is really delivered a damaging below. If BODY is reduced to zero or below, they are not really knocked unconscious, but Sergeant Nemec judges the opponent's attack - or the hypothetical damage from various attacks - as good enough to knock out an opponent. Round One begins. Stacy jumps and attacks Karen. Karen DODGES, forcing a +1 column shift to her OV for the rest of the round, but sh...

(Possible) DC power rankings - 'The Alliance'

And here we go with the government's equivalent to the Legionnaires - USAES Cadet Training Cadre 2996 - also known by their 'super-team' code-name of ' The Alliance '. To recap, The Alliance was the result of ' Project Alliance ' - a special program put together with a twofold purpose: 1.) to take the Class Five psi-active David Allen Farrington and put him in an environment where he could be effectively trained to control his powers and socialized in a manner to guide him away from hostile uses of his abilities 2.) to raise a group of metahumans in close proximity to him who would learn everything about him to the most intimate details and how to counter his abilities with their own, so that if the need ever arose, they could contain or eliminate and potential threat he may have become. Fortunately, after the first few weeks of Cadre 2996's time at the Academy, it was felt that the program was no longer needed - but the man who handpicked the ...
