Writeup: Sandi Griffin

Here we go:  our first writeup where someone has Martial Arts and uses a weapon!  (Note that Iron Nerve adds a +2 to Initiative, among other things.)

Powers

Split: 2

Bonuses and Limitations
Sandi can use the power in a form called “Fusion” to boost her attributes above to DEX 8, STR 6, BODY 6, INT 6 – the second number of the slashed values above.  In effect, she calls upon the strength and skill of nine people.  However, she cannot Split when doing this.

All Skills below default to the asterisked (*) value when Sandi uses Fusion.

Sandi’s bodies do not lose APs after using Split.

If all of Sandi’s bodies are unconscious, Split will end and two of the bodies will fade away.
If all of Sandi’s bodies are conscious, she can merge without touching either of the two if all three bodies are within 0 AP of each other.  Two of the bodies become ghost-like forms and join with the third.

Sandi can triplicate small objects that she’s holding when using Split.  These objects usually last for 15 APs of time (24 hours) before disappearing.

Split can also be used as a ranged power, i.e. she can split other beings in addition to herself.  However, the power has only worked on Jane Lane.

Sandi’s bodies will occasionally use a suffix of 1, 2, of 3 in conversation to avoid confusion.  “I-3 learned that there’s activity at Pier 24, and my-2 idea is for me-1,2 to go check it out.”

Skills:  Charisma (Persuasion: 4), Weaponry (Melee Weapon – Staff, Batons: 8/11*, Exotic Weapon - PFT as Ranged Weapon 8/11*), Martial Arts (7/10*), Military Science (Danger Recognition: 10).

Connections (*):  Kyle Armalin (High), Tiffany Blum-Deckler (High), Quinn Morgendorffer (High), Stacy Rowe (High)

Drawbacks (*):  Age, Public Identity

Weapons

PFT-M3 CC2 [BODY: 15, EV: 6, Range: 5, Flight: 6]  x 2

The PFT-M3 CC-2 is an advanced technology weapon that has neither an ammo rating (meaning it can be fired without reloading) or a reliability number (meaning that it doesn’t break down). It can be used as a ranged weapon to fire a concussive beam which can kill at its highest settings.  It is considered as an Exotic Weapon when used in such a manner.
Body Armor has no effect against the weapon.  Force Fields suffer -2 OV column shift against the PFT-M3 CC2.

Each weapon measures 10 inches in length and can be extended to a full 6 ½ feet in length.
Sandi prefers the weapon either as a baton (in semi-extended form) or as a combat staff.

(*):  In addition to the characteristics listed, Sandi also inherits all bonuses, connections, advantages and drawbacks of Legion role and is equipped with all standard Legionnaire equipment.

Comments

  1. The PFT is considered to have a 'conditionally unlimited' ammo supply when used as a stunner; as a lethal weapon, it has 500 pulses (the average soldier carries between 210-360 rounds for his M4 rifle in a standard combat load), and as a destructive weapon, it has fifty pulses). Sandi would normally carry two extra power cells for the weapon; it also is self-recharging, and can be recharged from conventional power sources.

I like the limitation for Fusion - but didn't you also say that each of her bodies when split off also had the ability to split (or that someday, she'd learn how to do that)? Also, Sandi's triplicate power is permanent for objects triplicated that weigh one/sixth of her body mass of less (why she can't triplicate really large things, but can create large supplies of items like MREs or fruits/vegetables; she can also permanently triplicate Exotic Weapons that fall into the weight restrictions).

We forgot her MAGNUMS sleeves! (That screw-up on the Wiki is becoming a real pain...) From my saved Wiki entry:

The Multi-Adaptive Gauntlet/Nanotechnological Universal Marksmanship System (or MAGNUMS Sleeve) is a specialized personal defensive system created by Sherrie Klein in concert with DELPHI scientists for use by members of the P.O.G.O. teams. A MAGNUMS sleeve is a tactical system worn over the full arm and shoulder, which is essentially three bonded layers of unstable molecule-cloth that have been saturated with sheets of the nanotechnology that makes up the weapon, which is then sewn into the article of clothing that is intended for the user of the device. (In order to keep the weapon from destroying the article of clothing, it is almost always made up of unstable molecules as well.)

The MAGNUMS sleeve is mentally-activated and controlled, with a fully-integrated targeting system created from the onboard tech (visualized by the wearer through sunglasses provided with the system, but not needed for firing) and powered by the sleeve’s ultra-minaturized ‘beta fusion relay’. The wearer can fire bolts of concussive energy powerful enough to overturn a main battle tank from several hundred yards away, or tight-beam lasers that can strike a man-sized target from several hundred yards away. The MAGNUMS sleeve's firing capacity is conditionally unlimited; it can fire up to twenty concussive blasts at maximum power before it needs to recharge (a one-hour recharge period is needed) or up to one hundred fifty laser blasts.

It is common for the MAGNUMS sleeve to be in the left sleeve of of a wearer's garment, as most persons are usually right-handed (this gives them the opportunity to fight effectively and still use their primary hand for other tasks).

Sandi has two MAGNUMS sleeves fitted into her Legion uniform: she uses them in the manner of a 'chi attack' in melee combat as a finishing move, or as a first strike on far larger attackers. When the Legion took down Appleton Labs, she used the Magnums to knock down the main entrance into the Badlands

    1. As you can tell - she DOES NOT use the MAGNUMS on anything approaching a regular basis. ('It's a surprise...')

How I always saw Sandi in combat:

:-) That show was on a long time ago, but the image of Sandi being much like Lily has always stayed with me.

    2. Notes:

      1) For all practical purposes the weapon is a "fire without reloading" kind of weapon. We could add an Ammo = 50 for all attempts at Damaging a non-living object. But in most games, a person doesn't need 50 attempts to resolve something.

      2) Sandi's triplicates can't triplicate themselves. Maybe in the future, but not now.

      3) Items to be added to v2

      * Better info on objects triplicated.
      * MAGNUMS sleeves.

    3. 1. Yeah. If there's something big enough that Sandi has to worry about reloading, that's something Charles, Tom or Quinn would be dealing with.

      2. I didn't think that they could.
